A place to breathe.
The CSA was established in 1954. by a group of concerned citizens. It is believed to be the first organization of its kind in the country. The primary purpose is to offer financial assistance to New Providence residents in their time of need.
The CSA case worker works with prospective “clients”. Each client is assigned a number by the case worker, thus assuring complete anonymity before the clients case is presented to the volunteer board. Each case is acted upon promptly.
Funding for the CSA’s efforts comes from individual and company donations, as well as fundraisers such as the annual pasta dinner/basket raffle.
The CSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is chartered in the State of New Jersey.
Some of our annual events include the Thanksgiving food drive with support from the Boy Scouts as well as a Christmas Wish List. The food and gifts are given to fellow New Providence residents in need.
The Community Service Association of New Providence can assist with:
Utility Bills, Rent, Mortgage, Food, Medical Bills, Transportation and Clothing. If you are in in need of assistance you can contact us on our Contact page or call (908) 665-8254. All assistance is strictly confidential.
