The CSA was established in 1954. by a group of concerned citizens. It is believed to be the first organization of its kind in the country. The primary purpose is to offer financial assistance to New Providence residents in their time of need.
The CSA case worker works with prospective “clients”. Each client is assigned a number by the case worker, thus assuring complete anonymity before the clients case is presented to the volunteer board. Each case is acted upon promptly.
Funding for the CSA’s efforts comes from individual and company donations, as well as fundraisers such as the annual pasta dinner/basket raffle.
Some of our annual events include the Thanksgiving food drive with support from the Boy Scouts as well as a Christmas Wish List. The food and gifts are given to fellow New Providence residents in need.
The CSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is chartered in the State of New Jersey.
